PASSIVE GREEN STRATEGIES REPORT
Project 2 (Individual)
A Green building focuses on increasing the efficiency of resource use – energy, water, and materials – while reducing building impact on human health and the environment during the building’s lifecycle, through better siting, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and removal. Green Buildings should be designed and operated to reduce the overall impact of the built environment on its surroundings.
Objecives of this Project
-
To analyze theories and principles of passive green building design strategies.
-
To integrate understanding of sustainable design strategies in the development of architectural design.
Learning Outcomes of this Project
-
Analyze passive sustainable design strategies in relation to climate and culture and compare their impact on space and user experience.
-
Employ appropriate sustainable strategies in final architectural design.
During this individual project, I created a report on the passive green strategies used in my final studio design. Through extensive research and analysis, I gained a deeper understanding of passive sustainable design strategies, considering their relevance to different climates and cultures. It was a challenging yet highly rewarding experience that taught me much more than the previous assignment as it was more hands-on. It allowed me to understand the importance of context-specific solutions. It also helped me realize that sustainable architecture is not merely about incorporating the latest technologies, but rather about tailoring design solutions to the specific needs and environments of each project. This project sparked a passion for sustainable architecture, motivating me to incorporate these strategies into my future designs.
